Second, at least a partial origin of the term "pickling" is that it actually refers to the button you press to release the bomb on the yoke/stick/etc., the "pickle". These differ proportionately with higher altitude due to decreasing air density. In summary though, indicated airspeed is what the aircraft "feels" aerodynamically, while true airspeed is the actual speed of the aircraft through the air. Here's the Wikipedia page for the details. First, your explanation of true airspeed needs some work.
